MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING
I have read so.much in recent times. Different versions of self deceit and self denials all in a bid to show loyalty, either to my beloved brother and Rep, Rt Hon Benjamin Okezie Kalu, or to our dear Governor Dr. Alex Otti.
A lot of meanings, intended and unintended, has been subsumed into a very simple and straight forward submission. A submission which is the heartcry and mandate of all the actors who crticize it.
Just like Benedick and Beatrice In Shakepeare’s Much Ado About Nothing continued to openly show disdain for each other but secretly nurse strong feelings for one another, so has most of this commentators, especially the politicians among them continued to live in self deceit!
Pray, tell me, why are political parties formed?
Why do politicians belongs to political parties?
You may have forgotten, let me remind you, IT IS TO WIN ELECTIONS and form governents at all levels.
So what is special is Benjamin Kalu of APC wants his Party APC to win Governorship election in Abia State in 2027?
Any politician who has condemned Benjamin Kalu over that video is a hypocrite!
In 2023, Labour Party fielded a candidate against Benjamin Kalu, then a sitting House of Representatives member and LP contest strongly for the seat, God willing Ben Kalu won.
Gov Otti as part of his duty as a party man came to Bende and campaigned for his party and candidate.
After the election, the relationship between the Deputy Speaker and the Governor even became stronger. No crime at all in furthering the prospects of your party.
That is politics, its a game and anyone who does not see it like that will not go far.
Come 2027, if Dr. Alex Otti remians in Labour Party, and Labour Party gives Peter Obi Presidential ticket, he will be duty bound to campaign and support Peter Obi to unseat President Tunubu. That is what it is, there are no mid-ways to that incontrovertible fact!
Every political party wants their candidate to win election and that is what politicians who are loyal party Men do for a living!
Now, can you tell me what is special in that video!
In fact Governor Alex Otti should even have been suspicious of the Deputy Speaker if he had said otherwise!
What is even shocking to me is the degree of rejoinder, press releases and statements against the very essence of politicking.
Many people have seen it as an avenue to brandish their hypocrital stance their loyalty either to Gov Otti or Rep Kalu.
I am sure the duo Will be having a good laugh wherever they meet because if you watched the video you will notice that there is no love lost between the two gentlemen.
Those who want to stock the fire of hate and create enemity where there is none will certainly be disappointed when they realize that even Gov Otti underatands the video, because his performance was not disputed, neither was the affinity Between him and the deputy speaker denounced nor strained.
I understand many people need such contriversies in order to access Funds from both ends, but this particular one is not necessary all.
Our people should be smart enough to digest such materials before jumping on them and making a mockery of our reasoning quotient!
