Many Nigerians have continued to react over the recent statement credited to the labour party Governorship Candidate in Lagos State in the 2023 general election.

Senator Rhodes Vivour had few days ago, during the Labour party stakeholders meeting held in Abia State, stated that come 2027, Labour party is already working hard to boot Governor Sanwo Olu out of Lagos State Government House.

With that statement, Vivour implied and approved that there was nothing wrong in planning for 2027 from now, according to him “Labour has not stopped working from the last election to displace APC in 2027”, dismissing the opinion that this time for governance not politics.

Senator Vivour made this statement before all the critical stakeholders of labour party in the country including Mr Peter Obi, Datti, Gov Otti and even Obi Aguocha and he was cheered and applauded for wishing that the fortunes of his party be bettered by ending APC’ s rule in Lagos State. That is their wish and desire!

Vivour’s statement is coming few weeks after the deputy speaker of the house of the house of representatives Rt Hon Benjamin Okezie Kalu made similar call or even a more subtle call asking Gov Alex Otti to rejoin his former party the ruling All Progressives Congress.

The negative reactions that followed the Deputy Speaker’s call which is a sharp departure from the cheery ovation that greeted Vivour’s statement reveals the level of political hypocrisy the labour party and her hirelings are operating.

Nigerians would have loved to read articles from people like Obi Aguocha over Senator Vivour’s fanthom dreams.

Nigerians would have loved to see all the Labour party sympathizers and hirelings react to that statement from Vivour.

But what we have is a graveyard silence!

What Labour Party and her e-urchins exhibited was the palpable fear they habour over the rising profile and credentials of the Rt Hon Deputy speaker, perhaps they wouldn’t have been bothered, if the statement came from other opposition elements.

The truth and universal fact remains that what the deputy speaker said is an incontrovertibly fact that every keen watcher and follower of current political trends will affirm.

Just as the deputy fearlessly asserted without apologies, the ball remains in the court of the Governor to either heed or face the imminent.

Politics is not a game for the faint hearted or vocation for unstable characters who are neither here nor there, it is a domain for men who dare and stand their ground.

The likes of Rt. Hon Benjamin Okezie Kalu, Enyi Abia, Utabiri Ndi Igbo, Comes once in a lifetime and it is an honor and blessing to Ndi Bende, Ndi Abia, Ndi Igbo, Nigerians and humanity at large that this rare gem blossomed in our lifetime!
