Good Night, Son of the Soil, The Symbol Of Igbo Identity. Chief Engr. Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Iwuanyawu

The flag is lowered for an iconic figure who conquered in all facets of human endeavour, a highly respected elder statesman, nationalist, exceptional entrepreneur, a practical engineer and a champion of just cause.

I join other notable Igbo leaders and friends of Igbo nation to commiserate with the Iwuanyawu family, the good people of Atta, Ikeduru LGA, Imo State Govt and Ohaneze Ndi-igbo world-wide over the painful news of the demise of our leader and father, the President General of Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo, Chief Engr. Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Iwuanyawu (Aha-Eji-Aga-mba Ndi Igbo Gburugburu) whose death was announced yesterday, 25th July after a brief illness.

Chief Iwuanyawu, was a frontline politician, a good business man, a publisher of note and engineer who contributed immensely both in the public and private sector, being the pioneer chairman of a construction giant, Hardle & Enic construction company Ltd.

Upon his retirement from active politicking, Chief Iwuanyawu took the mantle of leadership to lead the apex Igbo organization, the Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo Worldwide, a position he held sacredly and passionately in defense of Igbo cause.

Aha-Eji Aga-mba is one of the most successful and accomplished Igbo that ever graced this earth. Testimonials of his philanthropic achievements abound.

Ndi Igbo have truly lost a towering figure…A great Iroko has fallen indeed!…..

We have lost an illustrious son, a Pan Nigerian and a statesman of note.

May God accept your soul patriotic Nigerian and the symbol of Igbo identity.

My thoughts and sincere prayers remain with your family and close allies.

Farewell our highly respected Leader..

Laa Nke Oma Aha-Eji Aga-mba
