Some Permanent Secretaries Defy Government’s Order, Refuse To Hand Over to the most Senior in their ministries

Some Permanent Secretaries in Abia state has thrown caution to the winds and are yet to comply with the instruction to hand over to the most senior civil servant in their ministries.

Recall that the Governor of Abia state had on Thursday 29th June 2023 ordered the immediate suspension of the state Head of service and all permanent secretaries.

Our correspondent who went round some ministries reported that while some have complied, some who even came to work on 30th June went about their normal activities and still didn’t hand over after close of work in defiance to the order of the Governor.

A civil servant who craved anonymity stated that “the news is sudden, they want to clear their tables and it won’t just take one day, but next week, I am sure they will hand over”.
