150 Women Trained, 30 Empowered As De Tourism World Int’l Partners Do-Good Foundation And Abia State Ministry of Trade & Commerce
Well above 180 women participated in the just concluded Investment Facilitation and Business Support Training for single mothers and widow traders organized by the Abia state ministry of Trade and Commerce in collaboration with Do Good foundation for Widows and Needy and De Tourism World International.

The event which held on Thursday 7th May 2026 at Hotel De Vile Aba was the first of its kind as scores of Indigent single mothers and Widows were trained and empowered to cater for their families.
Speaking during the event, the state commissioner for Trade and Commerce Dr. Salome Nkemakolam Obiukwu stated that the event is a strong statement of compassion, economic inclusion, social justice and sustainable empowerment.
She went ahead to celebrate the resilience of the single mothers and Widows who have continued to demonstrate extraordinary courage in the face of life’s challenges.

She called on financial institutions, private investors, NGO’s, corporate organizations and good spirited individuals to initiatives targeted at empowering vulnerable women traders across the state.
Also speaking, the founder and CEO De Tourism World International, Mr Solomon Uwakwe also highlighted the importance of the program, aimed at lifting vulnerable women out of poverty, fostering self. reliance, building self esteem and reducing their economic dependence on others.

Dignitaries who attended the event include; Dr Salome Obiukwu Abia state Commissioner for Trade and commerce; Architect Chiemela Uzoije, Abia state commissioner for housing; Major Iheanyichukwu Sunday Founder/CEO of Do Good Foundation for Widows &Needy inc; Mr. Uwakwe Solomon, De Tourism World international Founder/Executive Director; Barr Blossom Ndemole De Tourism World International South Company secretary, among others.
